Tools & Resources to Help
Veteran Owned Small Businesses
Build Financial Freedom
We believe financial independence is one of the most powerful things a veteran family can build. These free tools, guides, government resources, and a map of the wider NC support network are here to help you start, grow, or strengthen your business.
The Veteran Nonprofit Landscape of NC
An interactive map of the organizations building the ecosystem veteran families rely on across the state — from business incubators to housing programs to wellness retreats. Use it to find a referral, spot a partner, or see how many hands are doing this work.

Ratings shown are public Google review aggregates, included as one signal of community reputation — not a VPP endorsement or independent evaluation.
How this was built
This is a curated snapshot, not an exhaustive census — North Carolina has over 1,000 registered military/veteran nonprofits and posts (per Cause IQ's IRS Form 990 directory), the large majority of which are local American Legion, VFW, and auxiliary chapters. This map instead highlights active, service-delivering nonprofits organized by the kind of support they provide, to give a working picture of the landscape VPP operates in.
- Business & Entrepreneurship — peer organizations closest to VPP's own mission of veteran business formation.
- Housing & Reintegration — transitional and permanent housing, and reentry support after homelessness or crisis.
- Mental Health & Wellness — clinical or therapeutic programs addressing PTSD, trauma, and wellbeing.
- Family & Community Support — transition navigation, caregiver support, and family-focused programs.
Locations, ratings, and review counts reflect publicly available data as of July 2026 and should be reverified periodically. This map is a starting point for outreach and referral — not a comprehensive or vetted endorsement list.
